Homeopathy works wonders for pets! A Testimonial...

A testimonial of drshreya.com's patient Beata Ziemska, Lusowo, Poland. Thank you Beata! Working for innocent pets has always been my pleasure!

When Josie, my beloved black Labrador, suffered the age related congested heart failure with edema, serious breathing difficulties and anxiety, I was devastated and powerless. By accident I later discovered that so called life-saving veterinary medicine only worsened her condition.

Homeopathy has always been important to me, I love studying it and in the past I did self-prescribed when I had no other choice.
But this time of crises it was agonizing to look for a way to relieve the torture which Josie was going through, to decide what homeopathic medicine, potency and repetition to choose without a proper education, experience and distance.

So having found Dr. Shreya was a true blessing. It is a mystery to me how Dr. Shreya made sense of my descriptions of Josie’s ailments. But she did and soon the symptoms, which the conventional medicine consider incurable, started to reverse. And when a new aches and pains are surfacing we can count on a quick response of our doctor and trust that everything is going to be fine.

Josie is thirteen and a half now, it’s a noble age for a Labrador. People who saw her a year ago, can’t believe that Josie is still alive and so well. She is good-natured, peaceful and calm, more than ever… Thank you Shreya!!!

Ever since Josie was a puppy I was looking for a homoeopathist for her. Despite living in a different European countries and several contacts with homeopathic doctors, finding the right one who would treat pets was somehow out of reach. Luckily I found Dr. Shreya in the Internet and everything became so simple.

Easy access by e-mail, affordable prices, and - what’s the most important - the professional, methodical and consequential treatment with the great empathy and understanding.

It couldn’t be better!

With my undying admiration and gratitude.

#Pranayama: What's the prerequisite?

It is necessary to lift our moral and ethical values a bit high. Only then start with #Pranayama techniques. Else it will be merely a bodily activity and your mind / psyche will not get the necessary tranquillity. Perhaps, it might prove harmful too!

Kill that Anxiety and Depression! Life is worth lot more!

Number of patients dealing with anxiety, depression, panic attacks is increasing day by day. Yesterday had a woman, aged 34 years, suffering from recurrent panic attacks. After taking the case, the prescription pointed quite clearly to Lilium tigrinum. I gave the medicine and the second lady entered the cabin with similar complaint. Though her remedy was different, I started feeling amazed at the speed with which such cases are increasing.

Yes, we agree that the stress and strain of modern day life have added to such problems. But I live in a small town where city-type stress doesn’t usually affect people. As per my observation, the interpersonal relationship (among the housemates) is often the culprit for the enhanced stress here. I don’t think it’s very different for cities as well. Whatever the reason is, increase in the anxiety, depression and panic attacks is quite alarming.

I had a lady who was very confident earlier and after some years, due to some issues here and there, she started getting secluded, dull and lethargic, leading to depression. Are the stresses to be blamed or the people like us who have lost the ability to tolerate?

What I feel is that, in an attempt to run in the rat race, we often neglect our own “space”, “time”, and “quality of life”. What more, if someone is managing all these “self” things very well; we call him / her selfish. What a community we are! If we cannot manage our time well, we call someone managing time well as selfish? Quite absurd I feel. More importantly, in this modern world even today, we find people who consider “Work-free” times as useless. Perhaps, for the evolution of soul and the man as a whole, these work-free times are the best bets! The survey conducted at a university in India has pointed out that people with relatively less free time are the major targets of depression, anxiety and panic attacks as well.

Therefore, here are some major steps to follow in order to avoid such states—

1)    Give priority to your own space and time in day to day life. It will not only nurture the positive individual within you but also will boost your relationship with those around you!
2)    Plan your meals rightly. What you eat is extremely important than you thought when it comes to your state of mind. Your body eats junk, your mind suffers! Make sure you enhance your “natural” food intake through the day.
3)    Never eat full-stomach! People eating full have been reported to suffer from anxious spells and depressive attacks more often.
4)    Socialize with like-minded people only! Unnecessary socializing for the sake of it can lead to lot of stress related issues, comparisons, complex relations, and ruining of family life! On the contrary when you are with your real friends and family, you can be a freer self, share your life with them and be yourself!
5)    “What will people think” is the major culprit, at least in the Indian societies. When your mind and spirit tell you that you are doing nothing but right, why let some external unimportant factors ruin your peace of mind? It’s your life and your convictions! Stick to them with a free mind and you will enjoy life like never before!
6)    There is no age for having fun! Whatever age you are of, you can have loads of fun and feel the good vibes such times emanate! Engage in some favorite sports, hobby, dance class, music, traveling etc and let the gossipers enjoy themselves too! J
7)    Slowly but surely reduce your “Sitting time”. Yes, more you sit in one place, more you are at risk of developing anxiety related disorders. So, move around the office, cabin or your place of work during non-working hours. Do some stretching moves while on the go and your body will know you care for it!
8)    Go for the outings more often. What I like more about the Western world is their love for travel. Not that we Asians travel any less, but the Westerners mainly earn to travel; that’s what many of my friends tell me. You get to see different cultures, varied forms of life and get close to Mother Nature! Life is an adventure and traveling fuels that adventure for sure! Stress and panic cannot live with the travelers who live on adrenalin!

Everyone’s life is different and all cannot go by the stereotypical way of dealing with anxiety and depression. However, one can chalk out his or her own plan and work on improving our mental / psychological and emotional health! Believe you me, life without any mental / emotional baggage is a bliss!

Quickest Stress Reliever

For more info, visit- http://www.drshreya.com

Yeah, we are back to our favorite topic- stress!

Well here I need to tell you that I came across this piece of wisdom while I was reading something. It wasn't totally related to it but I could sense the connection and so felt like sharing with you all.

Coming straight to the point--

The foremost prerequisite for this technique is understanding that you are getting stressed out. It means recognizing the trigger. Staying away from the trigger is not always possible. Therefore, when you know that the trigger is coming, use one of your 6-sense organs to de-stress you.

Our 6 senses are powerful enough to engage our minds. However, everyone has different sense organ working marvelously for him or her. For example- If you consider your "eyes" as powerful organs through which you sense things quickly, when stressed out, go out where you can find some greenery and that sight which will engage you as a whole. When you get stressed, engaging your powerful organ on something you love to do is called as one of the biggest stress-relievers.

Only caution is engaging your tongue for eating. That's not to be done, unless you know how to control your urge to eat more. Now you can sense which sense organ to engage when the devil of stress scares you. Even though momentary, this technique can take away the harmful impact of stress on your health. Once that initial impact vanishes, you are wise enough to handle it constructively!

When Was Your Last Moment of Happiness? Let's Make Life a Chain of Such Happy Moments! :-)

For more info, visit- http://www.drshreya.com

In the hustle bustle of daily life, how many moments you spend when you think you truly felt happy? Quite an intriguing question, isn't it? It is said that our pure existence in itself is striving for happiness. We are here to seek happiness. And are we? The most irritating word is the "rut" of daily life. There is no rut guys, if you design your day in the manner you want. Of course that does not mean you can ditch away your daily job and routine, you cannot. But that certainly does not mean you can't spare time to be happy! You can, we all can and it's our birthright!

Everyone's idea of happiness may vary but the end product is the same- The Happiness! It is said that even a bad deed is done by some because they think that they will get happiness out of it. If it is so, just imagine, how many happy moments you can collect if you intentionally do good things that will lift your spirits and of those around you!

  • The foremost prerequisite for being happy is "Not dwelling on negativity of the past". Now this is something we need to learn and practice. It cannot happen overnight but its practice is worth the world! "Living from moment to moment" is the foremost thing that can actually "protect" your happiness. What we have in hand is our present; not the past or the future. Why waste our precious present for the things that we don't have control on? But yes it needs practice. The benefits are many- 1) You don't waste time, 2) You grab the best opportunities without letting them slip by, 3) You consciously make an effort to make your present good, 4) Even though negative energies are around you, you don't let them touch you and can show them their place, 5) You indulge in your best moments!
  • Laugh Out Loud! LOL :-) Yes, as many times as possible, let yourself loose and laugh out on damn anything. Laugh on your own inadequacies, laugh with your family and friends, laugh out loud reading funny jokes, watch humorous shows, and do whatever it takes to make you laugh. Initially you may need to make an effort if you are not a laughaholic. But slowly you can mould yourself in this new habit and believe me, this habit is hard to die!
  • Finding positive in every damn negative- This is also an art possessed by a few optimists since birth. But even if you don't own such positive trait since birth, no need to get disheartened. Everything in this world can be learnt and this quality is no exception (Would love to state here that some homeopathic constitutional medicines are very helpful for transforming people with negative mindsets). But overall, make it a habit. For example- You got stuck in the traffic for which otherwise you will feel bugged. Switch on your favorite music and thank God for giving you this time for the music you love. If you live in a small countryside and the power shut downs irritate you, this is an opportunity to get off your computers and do some drawing or painting you have forgotten you do so well! If your friend leaves you for no fault of yours, think that it helped you to drive away the negative energy and try to mingle with like-minded people more. Once you start making it a habit, you can derive positiveness out of the darkest negativity.
  • Sleep- Yup, sleep deprived individuals (for whatever reasons) are more irritable and unhappy. Reap on the benefits of sleep nature has provided us. Instead of winding up your day very late, try winding up bit early, take a good book to relax and smoothly glide into the wonderful world of sleep, which is beyond time and space! Next day, you will find yourself more energetic and positive!
  • Plan some info-less days- This is kind of awesome! We are literally bombarded by the information every moment nowadays. It's newspapers, TVs, mobiles, facebook, twitter and what not! Consciously take some days out of this infomania and relax. We may not realize it but negative information on the things we don't really need, at times make us sadder. Instead go for a long drive or a long walk, play with your kids or the kids around, talk to your long forgotten friends, write a diary, relish the openness of the vastness around us, delve deep within to master spiritual calmness or indulge in some physical exercise!
Remember nothing is as important as your happiness, which is your natural state! Indulge in it as much as you can, for happiness is what we are! That does not mean you shrug your responsibilities, that does not mean you can never cry, that does not mean you can ever feel bad; but that does mean that you are aware of the transient nature of the stuff that made you feel bad. When you know that, you see the negativity too as kind of natural.  Then you do not indulge in this negativism anytime. If something drags us away from our "State of Happiness", it's not worth it, it never was!

7 Surprising Causes behind Depression-

The causes like deep grief, disappointments, trauma, financial troubles, unemployment, physical ill-health etc are considered as some of the common causes of depression. However, there are certain things that may not cross our mind when we start experiencing those blues! Knowing them can help us treat them in a better fashion homeopathically.

1) Thyroid problems- This is one of the alarmingly growing reasons behind depression. More found in females, even borderline hypothyroidism can lead to depression in a few. The clinical signs and symptoms like sudden hot or cold flushes, delayed menses, bradycardia (slow pulse) and relaxed ankle jerk can often point to this finding and the apt blood test can diagnose it. While treating homeopathically, it is important to consider this causative factor, as thyroid is one of the most important glands ruling the whole body’s work in a systematic manner. It is the gland that decides how body’s energy is used up and therefore disorder in it causes dullness, heaviness and depression of spirits for the patient.

2) Poor sleep habit- If you have a habit of watching TV late nights, you are on your way to feel depressed over a period of time. Body’s circadian rhythm doesn’t allow it to sit through the night and that triggers depression.

3) Too much screen time- Be it facebook, youtube or your favorite chat sites, too much time on any screen is one of the major causes of depression these days. Tired feeling in eyes due to this extended screen time can also trigger dullness and depression.

4) Location of your home- Living in too much crowded cities has shown to influence our mind. Lot of physical activity in cities has shown to enhance stress and when one cannot cope with this stress, depression sets in.

5) Spoiled for choice? – Research has shown that if you have too many choices regarding anything, your brain gets overwhelmed. One tends to look for the best among lot many options, thus triggering some nasty brain reactions of fatigue and depression at times.

6) Prescription medicines- Many conventional medicines like anti-hypertensive drugs, anti-acne agents like Accutane, anti-insomnia drugs like Valium, Cholesterol-lowering agents, hormones etc can be the cause behind depression.

7) Smoking- Nicotine is known to trigger chemical imbalance in the brain. One may be depressed leading to the habit of smoking or smoking may lead to depression. Therefore remaining smoke-free (active and passive) is the best way to balance your brain chemicals!

So, make sure you avert these causes to avoid depression. Even if one is getting treated homeopathically, one has to select apt homeopathic remedy by considering the causes and try to avoid these triggers (that are avoidable) so that they do not turn into maintaining causes that hinder your treatment.
